Siem Reap Attractions
The city of Siem Reap is strategically placed close to many tourist attractions. One such attraction is the Angkor region harboring the famous Angkor temples. Here you will find the Angkor Wat, one of the most ancient temples in Cambodia. The temples are monumental with five lotus like towers rising high to the sky. Most people adore the aesthetic value of the temples and the imagination it induces. Siem Reap is located at least 4 kilometers from the Angkor region; thus, you can be able to move to and from the temples to completely enjoy the site.
There are other famous temples in Siem Reap apart from the Angkor temples. These include the Bayon and Ta Prohm temples. Ta Prohm is famous since its in the jungle with overgrown trees and is favored by those who love nature. The Bayon temple presents the artistic nature of the Cambodian people with huge carved stone faces. Both temples have much more to offer if you visit personally.
Many visitors to Cambodia tend to be very interested with the Tonle Sap lake. The lake is the largest fresh water lake in Southeast Asia! The most noticeable feature of the lake is the floating villages which attract a lot of tourists. Most people visit the village closest to siem Reap called Chong Khneas village but there are more beautiful villages such as Kompong Phluk. Now, the best time to visit the lake is during the rainy season when the water level is high. Tonle Sap is a natural resource and it supports the flooded forests nearby. Siem Reap also has wildlife reserves with bird sanctuaries harboring the most beautiful species in Asia.

To experience nature at its best, visit the Banteay Srey Butterfly center which is a popular tourist attraction in Siem Reap. If you need a break from the Angkor temples, visiting the butterfly center is the best way to spend a day. The center provides a spectacular aura coupled with the most rare and beautiful butterflies in Southeast Asia. The Banteay Srey butterfly center also has marvelous plant varieties and flowers including orchids. You may even be able to see the butterflies undergo transformation; the most beautiful of all sights.
The butterfly center is located close to the landmine museum; thus, it is possible to visit the two in the same day. Approximately 6 million landmines were planted in Cambodia during the war. The aim of the museum is to rid Cambodia of the landmine problem.
Siem Reap Entertainment
If you are fun loving, Siem Reap is the place especially during holidays. Most of our Angkor tours offer the Aspara dance presentation. There does not exist a specific history associated with Aspara dances but they are very enjoyable to watch. Watching the dancers in public places is even more exciting.
