Angkor Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – 29th January 2014
When you arrive at Siem Reap Airport you will be greeted by your tour guide and driver that will transfer you to the hotel of your choice or our recommendation.
After you have a short rest you will be taken on a guided 2 hour tour of Kompong Phluk floating village. During your time in Kompong Phluk you will experience a very unique way of living and work life for Cambodians that live in a floating village. When the tour is over you will return to your accommodation where you can freshen up for your evening.
At 6:40pm we will take you to a traditional Apsara dance show that includes a delicious buffet meal. The remainder of your evening is free for you to explore the city of Siem Reap.
Day 2 – 30th January
After your included breakfast at your hotel your guided tour of the Angkor temple park will begin. First you will see the world famous Angkor Wat, built in the 12th century. Next you will be taken to the 3 square kilometre walled and moated Angkor Thom complex that contains the South Gate, Bayon, Baphoun, Terrace of Elephants, and Terrace of the Leper Kings. Your tour is completed with stops at Ta Keo and Ta Prohm (Tomb Raider Temple).
Day 3 – 31st January
When you have finished your breakfast at the hotel your guide will and driver will take you to continue exploring the Angkor temple complex starting at Prasat Kravan. Next you will be taken through Sras Srang and the temples of Banteay Kdei, Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som and Pre Rup where you will see sunset. Pre Rup, which was built in the 10th century, has nicely carved doorways and a spectacular view of the surrounding area from it’s top.
When sunset is complete you will be returned to your hotel and the evening is free for you to enjoy the night.
Day 4 – 1st February
Once you have finished breakfast at your hotel your guide will take you one of the more distant temples and ruins. Starting at the most intricately and best preserved temple of Banteay Srei, also known as the “citadel of the women”. The tour will continue on to Kbal Spean to see the 1,000 lingas that are carved into the river beds. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes on this tour as there is a walk to the rivers. You will get to see some of the natural beauty that the jungle of Cambodia has to offer.
If time permits you may also stop at Banteay Samre which is a temple not visited often by tourists and rarely has large crowds even in high season and the Landmine Museum which you can read about here http://www.cambodialandminemuseum.org/
Day 5 – 2nd February
On the final day, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure. If you have a later departure time we can arrange some optional activities for you.
1.4 nights accommodation in your selected hotel or recommended hotel with breakfast included
2.Transport to the Angkor temples by A/C bus/car (depending on size of group)
4.3 day Angkor Temple Pass
5.English speaking Angkor tour guide
6.Apsara dance show with buffet (excluding drinks)
7.Boat trip to Kompong Phluk floating village and the flooded forest
