Angkor Wat Cycling Tours

Angkor Tour Itinerary


Day 1 – No Cycling

Kompong Phluk floating villageWhen you arrive at Siem Reap Airport you will be greeted by your tour guide and driver that will transfer you to the hotel of your choice or our recommendation.

After relaxing for a while, you will then take a guided tour of one of the floating villages on the Tonle Sap lake. During your tour, you will see what life is like on a floating village and how the locals spend their working days. After visiting the floating village, you will be taken back to your accommodation where you will have time to relax and freshen up.

At 6:40pm we will take you to a traditional Apsara dance show that includes a delicious buffet meal. The remainder of your evening is free for you to explore the city of Siem Reap.


Day 2 – Approximately a 40km Cycling tour

Angkor Wat cycling tours to Beng Mealea, CambodiaYou start the day after breakfast at the hotel with a cycle ride (40km) to the jungle temple of Beng Mealea. You will have a guided tour of one the most untouched and uncrowded temples in the Angkor complex. Due to it’s distant location very few tourists make it to Beng Mealea. The beautiful temple of Beng Mealea with its Jungle like atmosphere is an amazing temple and is one of the highlights for many people. The Beng Mealea temple has to be one of the most beautiful temples of Angkor, and due to its location, 80km from Siem Reap it is not overcrowded with people. The evening is yours to enjoy.



Day 3 – Approximately a 30km Angkor Wat Cycling tour

Angkor Wat toursAfter breakfast you will start with a tour of the Angkor temples. First of all, you will visit the magnificent temple of Angkor Wat which was built in the early to mid 12th century. Suryavarman II constructed Angkor Wat into a huge temple like mountain with 5 huge towers, which can be seen from afar. It was dedicated to the Hindu God and Vishnu.

After Angkor Wat tour, you will continue on to the Angkor Thom complex, which is a Buddhist temple. It was built in the late 12th to early 13th century during Jayavarman VII reign. Angkor Thom is a 3 km square walled and moated royal city and was the last capital of the Angkorian Empire. You will also visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphoun, Terrace of Elephants, Terrace of Leper Kings, Ta Keo and Ta Prohm.

After your Angkor tour, you will be taken back to your accommodation.


Day 4 – Approximately a 20km Village Cycling tour

Angkor Wat Cycling tours, Siem Reap, CambodiaAfter breakfast, visit a local village and see what life is like out in the Cambodian countryside. The village cycling tour will depend on the time of year you are visiting to what you will actually see or do on this tour. During your cycling tour you will meet local families within the communities, you will also visit our community project and some of the schools we work with in the community of Angkor Thom district. If you would like to help the project in any way then please let us know before you arrive and we advise on how you can help.


Day 5 – No Cycling

On the final day, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure. If you have a later departure time we can arrange some optional activities for you. See a list of tour additions by clicking here.
